...but pours.

This is rather a lengthy story, but if you'd bear with me, I'd appreciate it.

I realize the site has been down for quite a bit longer than the two weeks I initially promised. That would be because I apparently have the worst website karma... ever. November 2003, just as I was getting ready to start the new update, Your-Site.com, our hosting provider, had major downtime. Something like 80% of it's servers went down for a few days. Most sites had their service restored promptly, but for some reason ST.com wasn't one of them. I spent many hours arguing on the phone with their customer support representatives and very little got down. My password and user name were not being accepted as I tried to log into the FTP, etc, etc. Needless to say, I was very frustrated.

Cut to February 2004. February 12, 2004 to be exact. My plan was to wait until Spring Break, go home, cut ties with Your-Site and set up elsewhere. However, Alissa's mother, the credit-card holder for the site, had other ideas. Having caught wind of our issues, she cancelled the site before I could get a chance to call tech support one last time and inform them of my decision. The great irony of life - I got the call from Alissa while evacuating the dorm building we both live in. Our dormitory was on fire. We would not have access to our belongings for eleven days.

After the fire, while going through my belongings, I discovered that my data CDs were among the items missing from my room. Of course the back up disk for this site was one of those disks, because life wasn't hard enough as it was.

I am in the process of rebuilding the site. Between midterms and papers, I was able to get the message boards running again, to start with. You can visit them here. But, I need your help. I still have most of the sound files, but many of the pictures were on that disk. If you have submitted pictures to SwoonThunk in the recent past and would still like them included in the site, please send them to me again. My e-mail address is here, and hopefully I will be able to get the site up within the next few weeks.

Thank you for sticking around for this long. I really appreciate it, and thank you for your patience.
